Northeastern students go big with energy-efficient housing project in nearby Boston neighborhood

Students at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts went above and beyond the requirements to design a highly energy-efficient structure for the Solar Decathlon Build Challenge.  The students teamed up with local developer, Urbanica, and designed an affordable housing project that will integrate an energy-saving home automation system.   “Northeastern is pursuing a really aggressive project. They want to solve a problem they see in the area. I think that’s a really admirable goal for this team,” said Michael Young, technical project manager for National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the U.S. Department of Energy.  What successful partnerships and admirable goals in energy efficiency have you seen lately?
