NEWS: Peach State power play: Georgia's blueprint for grid-scale energy storage

Georgia Power is on track to deploy over 1 GW/4 GWh of utility-scale battery storage by 2027—more than any other Southeastern state. (Energy Storage News)

  • The utility is building 765 MW of BESS at four sites, with another 500 MW in contracting. Projects are co-located with substations or retired coal plants to speed deployment and cut costs.
