NEWS: GridStor, Flatiron Energy, and Jupiter Power advance US BESS projects totalling 1.6GWh

Battery developers are scaling fast, with GridStor, Flatiron Energy, and Jupiter Power advancing projects totaling 1.6 GWh from Arizona to Massachusetts. (Energy Storage News)

  • Gridstor: Acquired the 100 MW/400 MWh White Tank BESS near Phoenix under a 20-year tolling agreement with APS. It’s GridStor’s 4th acquisition in a year as the company targets fast-growing load pockets.

  • Flatiron Energy: Secured $540M in financing for the 200 MW/800 MWh Taft BESS in Massachusetts, due online in 2026. 

  • Jupiter Power: Placed Michigan’s first utility-scale battery, the 100 MW/400 MWh Tibbits facility, into operation with Consumers Energy. A long-term PPA locks in $14.54/MWh, and additional ERCOT builds are underway.
