NEWS: Document Shows E.P.A. Plans to Loosen Limits on Mercury From Power Plants

The EPA is moving to gut two major Biden-era power plant rules. (NYT)

  • The first would roll back mercury limits by up to 70% at some plants and eliminate continuous smokestack monitoring. EPA argues Biden “improperly targeted” coal.

  • The second would scrap all power plant COâ‚‚ limits. Worth noting? America’s power plants were responsible for some 25% of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2022.
