Grid Forward Joins Partners in Wildfire Prevention Coalition

Organization expands wildfire mitigation efforts with new national partnership and upcoming utility-focused symposium.

PORTLAND, Ore. May 8, 2025 - Grid Forward is proud to announce it has joined the Partners in Wildfire Prevention organization, a new coalition dedicated to reducing the devastating impacts of wildfires through proactive prevention and preparedness. The coalition is advancing a national strategy centered on protecting communities, encouraging responsible investment, enhancing resilience, and accelerating recovery efforts.

“There is a growing and exciting set of advanced capabilities to address wildfire threats in and around electric grid infrastructure. Grid Forward is committed to work with utilities and all grid stakeholders to further commercialize and scale these technologies,” said Bryce Yonker, CEO and executive director of Grid Forward. “We also stand ready to work with Partners in Wildfire Prevention to highlight how the electric power industry can help advance national solutions.”

As part of the Partners in Wildfire Prevention Coalition, Grid Forward is supporting key policy objectives that will drive meaningful change, including:

  • Prioritizing safety and prevention strategies;
  • Promoting investments in modeling, advanced technology, and critical infrastructure;
  • Ensuring fair and timely access to claims compensation; and
  • Establishing a balanced, effective liability framework.

To accelerate action, Grid Forward is also hosting "Standing Up to Wildfire: Practical Tech and Tactics for Utilities" on June 4, 2025 at Amaterra Winery in Portland, Oregon. This one-day symposium will offer a 360° view on wildfire risk mitigation, bringing together over 40 presenters and discussion leaders across 21 sessions. Experts from utilities, first responders, government, and community organizations will share insights, solutions, and proven strategies to make energy infrastructure and communities safer and more resilient.
