Fort Collins buried all its power lines: So can Colorado Springs

Fort Collins started undergrounding in 1968. Today, the 4th largest city in Colorado is 100% underground.

But….”when searching the internet for cities with buried power lines, one is surprised to discover that Colorado Springs, with 80% of its lines underground, is considered a leader.” (I would have agreed and probably added Anaheim).

The Edison Electric Institute reports that only 18% of power lines in the US are buried. This is going up! Will 50% of all power lines be underground by 2040? What do you think?
