Your favorite burrito place is going 100 percent green. The famous chain, Chipotle, announced its all-electric restaurant plans to boost energy efficiency. The restaurant said its energy management systems have already reduced 65,000 MWh of energy.  The market for Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) is expanding as the need for decarbonized or âcleanerâ buildings rises. The market consists of software, hardware and services for governmental, commercial and residential buildings.Â
Recognizing the need for energy-efficient buildings, companies like Amazon, Meta, Google, Verizon, Ford Motor Company, Stellantis, Mcdonaldâs, General Motors, QTS, and INEOS Olefins & Polymers are all leading the way in renewable energy and energy management. âThe transition to clean energy is full steam ahead, and the CEBA member community is at the helm, fast-tracking 92 percent of contracted clean energy capacity totaling 64.5 gigawatts since 2014,â said Clean Energy Buyerâs Association Chief Executive Miranda Ballentine, in a prepared statement.  Real-time monitoring and integrated control of buildings and equipment is optimizing energy usage.Â
The money saved and the energy conserved far outweigh the initial cost of prevention.   In tandem, BEMS hardware, software and services enable companies to monitor and manage energy usage in their buildings.  Despite large investments into data analytics software by companies like, Schneider Electric, IBM Corporation, and Honeywell International Inc., the services category is expected to have the greatest market share. According to Emergen Research, the need for minimize energy costs, increase energy efficiency, and address growing concerns regarding climate change are some of the key factors driving global building energy management system market growth.  Â
