Two Climate Stories of Consequence – On a Highway to Hell or About to Turn the Corner

While the American Southwest is enduring another heat dome, the rest of the planet is also sweating with predictions that we are playing Russian Roulette with the planet without making critical changes to the decisions governments and energy companies make in the next 18 months. One of those changes is to continue to ramp up renewable energy projects and bring them online. Bloomberg in a recent report noted that to keep temperatures from rising beyond 1.75 Celsius over the next 20 years the industry and governments need to invest $215 trillion US in new capacity.
