There’s a First for Everything - first post, first DTECH

DTECH 2026 was my first time attending, and I’m still processing how much I took away from it.

From the moment things kicked off, it was clear how much intention and energy goes into an event of this scale. Being immersed in it all, in real time, gave me a whole new appreciation for the planning, creativity, and collaboration that power this industry.

One of my biggest takeaways was just how early the conference experience really begins. DTECH wasn’t something that “started” when the doors opened, it was already top of mind weeks beforehand in conversations, meetings, and planning. Once I saw the show floor in person, it made total sense. The level of thought that goes into booth design, messaging, demos, and overall presence is incredible, and it really shows.

And the floor itself? Overwhelming in the best way. The demos were impressive, the branding was bold, and the creativity stood out. What caught my attention most were the experiences that invited people in, interactive booths, thoughtful merch, and moments that sparked curiosity and conversation. It was a powerful reminder that engagement and originality go a long way in busy, high-energy environments.

One of the most rewarding moments for me was seeing our first Energy Central in-person breakfast come to life. Watching people show up early, grab a coffee, connect with one another, and dive into genuine, easy conversations was incredibly energizing (pun intended). There was something special about creating a space that felt welcoming and relaxed, yet still meaningful, a simple reminder that sometimes the best conversations happen over coffee.

On a personal level, this conference was all about meeting people face-to-face and making real connections. Putting faces to names and having real conversations on the show floor added so much meaning to the work. Those in-person moments—quick hellos, longer chats, shared ideas, are what really made it all click. And honestly, huge shoutout to the Energy Central team! Everything felt easy, collaborative, and so well done, and spending a few busy (but very fun) days together in San Diego made the whole experience even better.

Overall, DTECH left me feeling excited and inspired. The creativity across the floor, the quality of conversations, and the sense of community were all standout. I’m walking away with fresh ideas, new connections, and a lot of excitement for what’s ahead!! ⚡
