Solar confusion in Brazil?
News published by Canal Solar give an account of the size of the ongoing challenge that the solar sector is facing.
Briefly, CEMIG's grids would be "saturated" which would prevent them from "welcoming exports" of new solar systems. CEMIG is one of the largest distribution companies in Brazil.
The result has been the lack of authorisation by CEMIG for projects that are being submitted to this electric utility company (one of the most important in Brazil).
The following questions remain:
1. CEMIGÂ
Doesn't it have - from a regulatory point of view - the obligation to have capacity in its grid to make solar projects viable?
2. ANEEL(regulator)
Will it not have the obligation to "enforce" the regulation so that the submitted projects are evaluated and approved within an established timeline?
3. Solar solution providers
Wouldn't they have to share this information ("saturation of the CEMIG grids") with their potential customers so that they can make the best decisions?
4. Clients
Shouldn't they inform themselves - with the rigor that the situation requires - so that, before deciding on a solar solution, know the risks involved and how to mitigate them (or not)?
