At least out here in California and much of the American West, utilities have a public safety obligation to do everything in their power to avoid setting off wildfires. Look at what happened to PG&E in recent years, having to file for bankruptcy and settle hefty lawsuits and fines. One company is now looking to help utilities manage their wildfire risk with satellite imagery, a solution as simple as the issue is urgent.Â
