This looks like a good opportunity to offer feedback to PJM on their Capacity Market Design. I've provided comments to PJM in the past on this topic using an hourly capacity market design over a defined capacity commitment period that supports State Energy Goals as a top priority. AOCE.
PJM is requesting your input on the Reliability Backstop Procurement (RBP) efforts through a targeted Request for Information (RFI) released today.
As PJM works to finalize the RBP design, this RFI is an important step in enabling a successful bilateral matchmaking process to bring new generation online. We are seeking specific feedback and technical comments from a variety of sectors – load, generation, state governments – to better understand the current market interests and finalize the RBP design. This RFI is not a request for proposals and does not constitute an offer to transact.
To enable a comprehensive set of responses, we encourage you to share this RFI with your colleagues or broader professional network.
Key Details:
Complete materials, including the RFI document and all supporting technical comment forms, are available on the PJM CIFP RBP page: PJM Website
Charles River Associates (CRA) is facilitating this RFI process on behalf of PJM and all submissions should be sent to CRA at the provided email: [email protected]
All submissions should be received by May 6, 2026. Please coordinate within your organization and submit only one response per organization.
