Siemens Energy is committing $1B to US expansion while politely asking the White House to stop moving the goalposts. (FT)
Targeting the surging demand for grid hardware, the German industrial giant plans to build a new electrical equipment factory in Mississippi and upgrade facilities across five other states, creating 1,500 jobs.
CEO Christian Bruch told the FT that, while the US remains an “excellent market,” recent policy shifts—specifically the "painful" stop-work orders on offshore wind and unpredictable tariffs—are creating headaches.Â
So the company is asking for more policy stability. Bruch said the administration is "super approachable." Worth noting? Siemens manufactures the critical components required to meet the White House's energy goals.
