  • Democrats are preparing bills that would force data centers to enter a formal interconnection queue, disclose their grid impacts earlier, reduce load during stress events, and, in some cases, build their own onsite generation before receiving firm service.

  • Lawmakers are also eyeing reforms to PJM’s handling of large-load connections and new limits on utility profits and political contributions, arguing that the state needs more control over how utilities plan, spend, and influence policy.
