NEWS: Hitachi Energy expands its U.S. footprint with $10 million USD investment in North Carolina to meet surging electricity demand

  • The 32K-sq-ft facility—set to open this fall—will localize engineering, testing, and system integration for grid-stabilizing tech including STATCOMs and synchronous condensers. The center will also function as Hitachi’s global cybersecurity hub. The goal? Help utilities squeeze more capacity out of existing transmission without building new lines.

  • The investment is part of Hitachi’s broader $1B US manufacturing commitment announced last year, which also includes a new LPT factory in Virginia.
