NEWS: Duke Energy to sell Tennessee Piedmont Natural Gas business to Spire for $2.5B

Duke Energy is offloading its Tennessee Piedmont Natural Gas operations to Spire in a $2.48B deal. (Duke Energy)

  • The sale, expected to close early next year, will help fund Duke’s $83B five-year capital plan. 

  • The deal includes 3,800 miles of pipeline and 205,000 customers mostly in Greater Nashville. Spire will assume operations and staff, expanding its gas utility footprint to nearly 2M customers.
