NEWS: DTE inks first data center deal to grow electric load 25%

DTE Energy just signed its first hyperscale data center deal, and it’s a big one. (Utility Dive)

  • The Detroit-based utility inked a 1.4 GW agreement that will boost its electric load by 25% and serve as the first of several planned hyperscale projects totaling up to 8.4 GW.

  • To meet the demand, DTE plans a $30B investment pipeline through 2030, adding 12 GW of new generation including renewables, batteries, and gas.
