Why it matters: Hill Top, completed in 2021, is one of the most efficient combined-cycle plants in PJM. Blackstone says it’s ideally placed to serve as a hub for the region’s growing AI load.
The bigger play: The deal follows Blackstone’s $25B pledge in July to expand Pennsylvania’s digital and energy infrastructure. The firm also bought into gas capacity in Virginia and has 1,600 MW of new US generation in development.
