Over the past month, there have been several enlightening articles covering natural gas markets and technology. The chart below is from the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Annual Energy Outlook 2023, with a projection to 2050. It clearly shows natural gas capacity as a major contributor to decarbonization efforts across all forecast scenarios.

Dave Messler wrote an excellent assessment in OilPrice.com highlighting the EIA forecast: https://lnkd.in/eRUPJ2F3
John Gulen (S. Can) wrote a very informative piece in POWER magazine showing how gas turbines will play a vital role in decarbonization: https://lnkd.in/dYw9J5Nn
Kira Savchenko, a senior editor at S&P Global, wrote a revealing article postulating the question, is the Russia-Ukraine war turning natural gas into the ‘new oil’? https://lnkd.in/diriPnec
And late last month, Greg Molnár, Gas Analyst chez for the International Energy Agency (IEA), wrote an illuminating article identifying four structural changes in gas markets that I encourage everyone interested in natural gas to read: https://lnkd.in/dY2kH2Gw
After a turbulent 2022, natural gas supply and prices have become less volatile and more affordable. That is good news for energy customers.
