Yesterday we covered a YouGov survey that highlighted people’s misconceptions on electric vehicles. In doing the research for the post I review the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s website on the same topic. The EPA also listed numerous “myths” about EVs. What struct me was that both the EPA and YouGov surveys seemed to be attempting to spin the truth.
Today’s post calls them out for their respective efforts to minimize the issues that are creating headwinds to EV adoption. In my opinion, “spinning” the truth is counterproductive. It only serves to provide ammunition to those that oppose your goals.
My advice to governments and EV advocates around the world: be honest for once. Admit the shortfalls and come up with a viable plan to address them.
