Macho Brazil and energy

Trump imposed a 50% tariff on Brazilian products.

The country officials countered by stating that Brazil would "retaliate." A "macho" stance.

After all, we need to "defend the honor" of our country. The matter should be addressed objectively. What would be the best approach for Brazil: confronting the United States or, through a conciliatory approach, seeking a new modus operandi and dialogue?

Is it better for the Brazilian economy: opening a conflict, leveraging differences, or seeking a path to a new agreement? It's regrettable that Brazil portrays itself as "macho."

In the energy arena what will be the consequences of this retaliation? What energy related solutions will be affected?

For most, we only have to lose this way, but for those in power, it's a momentary expression of "getting even."
