$/kWh - Brazil

It would be wonderful if the Brazilian electricity sector based their strategies on simple, robust metrics that are easy to understand for everyone involved in the value chain.

It would be so valuable if we could monitor the evolution of electricity prices and rates, facilitating the decision-making processes of companies and institutions in the direction of competitiveness and justification of local activities (and not the search for other countries as has been the case).

But the harsh reality points to the systemic increase in electricity prices and rates, due to an endless list of spurious costs that are always unceremoniously included.

The most worrying aspect is the realisation that this is not a matter of a specific party in power. It is state policy, which has lasted for decades.
