Is an EV worth it?

Two perspectives: (1) the owner's and (2) the electrical system's.

If the owner drives enough to offset (the fuel x electricity) the extra acquisition cost (compared to a conventional car), great!

But for the electrical system, there's a big question. The need to expand installed capacity (electricity generation, transmission, and distribution) is a relevant issue.

This becomes even more sensitive as the demand for fast chargers grows, which, of course, require more installed power from the supplying system.

It would be desirable for the official leaders of the electrical sector to present the real cost situation so that decisions are guided by objectivity!
