Hunter Hydrogen Roadmap 

Newcastle and the Hunter are well positioned to harness the tremendous opportunities created by the emerging global market for hydrogen and its many applications.

The Hunter Hydrogen Taskforce has been working to outline a roadmap that will position the region, attract investment and drive economic activity into the future. The Hunter region is an energy, research and innovation powerhouse, with the complimentary infrastructure and industrial expertise to accelerate renewable hydrogen generation, storage and use.

The development of a hydrogen economy in the region is set to provide significant economic benefits including employment and industry growth. Stakeholders in the region have come together under the Taskforce, and have worked to translate ambition into action including alignment with State and Federal Government initiatives. The Taskforce recognises the power of a collaborative and strategic approach to position and unlock the region for growth, to promote capabilities, and to attract trade and investment partnerships.
