The Project would initially be used as a conduit for the import of green ammonia (NH3) from NEOM in Saudi Arabia to be converted to green hydrogen

The huge plan, potentially creating more than 1,000 jobs and a £4 billion boost to the UK economy, would see ammonia imported for port-centric hydrogen production, with carbon also shipped in for storage.

The Project would consist of the following key components:

a. On the marine side: i A new approach trestle, jetty platform, berthing and mooring dolphins with link walkways. ii Topside infrastructure for the handling of liquid bulks, including loading arms and pipework.

b. On the land side: i Pipework, pipelines and utilities between the processing facility and the jetty. ii Refrigerated ammonia storage. iii Hydrogen production units (converters) that convert ammonia feed to produce the hydrogen. iv Hydrogen liquefiers to liquify the hydrogen for temporary storage and road transport. v Loading bays to fill road tankers with hydrogen which would then be distributed to hydrogen filling stations throughout the UK

Located on the eastern wing of Port of Immingham, the proposed development includes a new jetty with up to two berths and the infrastructure to handle bulk liquids as well as two subsantial production sites - with the scale now visualised.  Stay informed:The North Sea, Offshore Wind and Hydrogen
