A common characteristic of companies and institutions that are at the forefront when it comes to energy is respect.
Examples from my experience as a consultant:
1. Punctuality
Whenever I scheduled a meeting with a client (virtual or in person), we made sure to be extremely punctual. Besides being respectful, it facilitates the busy and hectic schedules that both parties have daily.
2. Meeting Demands
Each meeting always ends with a "to-do list" for everyone involved, including activities, deadlines, and responsible parties. Strict adherence to the agreed-upon plan ensures the maintenance of the associated goals.
3. Respect
An example that says it all. A CEO of a large transformation company had scheduled a meeting with me. He was coming by helicopter from the interior of the São Paulo state. He called me to say he would be 10 minutes late!
4. Focus on what's important
Simple language in communication, centered on the relevant issues of the topics to be addressed, characterized by the expected/demanded results.
These four points are quite obvious. But our cultural Brazilian profile is typically averse to this "objectivity." To a large extent, this is one reason why we are always lagging behind the market when our metrics are compared to those of our competing countries.
