Energy: how much is delay worth?

Decision-making processes in Brazil are typically very, very slow. Two main reasons:

1) When the issue is in the hands of lower managers, there is no motivation to be "fast", after all, the main argument I hear - invariably - is that their plates "are full"

and

2) Often upper managers are not up to date with energy issues with the necessary strategic depth, since it is an item that is usually between 5th and 10th place in the cost ranking.

And so, what I have found - having provided consultancy is that "Brazilian" delays leave a "trail" of lost opportunities, in relation to those multinational companies who are way more efficient.

Although much is said about urgency, little is done. And so, it is no wonder that Brazilian metrics associated with energy (use and costs) often lag behind in the world markets!

For those who want to "turn around", the good news is that there are many opportunities. It "only" depends on an upper manager "wanting it".
