There is a widely held view that AI will significantly change our lives—and the way we handle energy, too.
Over the last few decades, a series of major innovations has emerged, raising significant questions. Telex, fax machines, computers, mobile phones, and now AI are prime examples of these innovations.
A narrative has emerged suggesting that AI will lead to massive job losses—much like the shift some 60 years ago when elevators began incorporating systems that allowed passengers to operate them without an attendant.
My view is that AI is simply another tool at our disposal. The key lies in (1) knowing what to ask, (2) analyzing the answers received, and (3) figuring out what makes sense for each specific case! Conclusion: AI is potentially a fantastic resource for the energy sector as well!
