Eariler this summer, Helion, a startup backed by OpenAI's Sam Altman and SoftBank's venture capital arm, announced that Microsoft has agreed to purchase electricity from Helion’s first fusion power plant. Construction on the first nuclear fusion power plant has started, with the expectation it will supply power to energize data centers by 2028. Helion is hiring too – with 25+ open positions. Fascinating technology. Powering good!
