One of the most likely effects of the anticipated El Nino climate phenomenon is the significant reduction in rainfall in the southeastern-central-west region of Brazil.
In this scenario, the reservoirs of the main hydroelectric plants in the country are stressed and the result is an increase in prices in the deregulated power market and potentially a change from the green flag to yellow or red (additional costs established by the regulator).
