Does Brazil need to be competitive?

Does Brazil need to be competitive?

The question seems obvious, but it's not! Does Brazil need to be competitive?

The question seems obvious, but it's not!
Our politicians and institutional leaders always trumpet the (true) information that Brazil is one of the ten largest GDPs in the world.

But it is not said that Brazil's GDP per capita (which effectively measures wealth relative to the population) is in the group of poor countries. Position no. 63! Even below the world average.

And if we look at Latin America we will see that Chile, Costa Rica, Panama, Trinidad Tobago and Uruguay are ahead of us!

In the electrical sector the same happens. Our price in $/kWh is behind Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay and Venezuela.

Will we prefer to continue with the thesis that "we are the greatest" or will we have the courage and detachment to accept reality as it is, and above all "turn around the situation""?
