Curtailment (Brazil)

Curtailment (Brazil)

A new phenomenon that has arisen from the massive introduction of solar energy is maximum production according to the incidence of sunlight.

This also occurs with wind power.

These are two sources that are called non-firm, when compared to hydroelectric or thermal energy.

The National System Operator has had to reduce the supply of electricity when solar energy (for example) is produced above market demand.

The suggestion I present is that these non-firm sources should be reduced to prevent the "others" who have nothing to do with this situation from having to "pay the price". It would be simpler, fairer and more practical!
