Confidence... in Brazil?
A growing distance separates what happens in the world of energy in Brazil and in developed countries.
A list of programs in the developed world, encourage customers, energy consumers, around actions that aim to increase their energy efficiency, embark on demand response, and arbitrage energy costs between sources, for example.
At the heart of this is the trust they place in the system. Without which, incidentally, there would be no motivation, commitment and search for results.
In Brazil, on the contrary, there is no institutional security in the electricity sector to seek bolder decisions on the part of customers.
* We do not know which innovations will be brought to the electricity sector and if the associated costs will be passed on to tariffs, such as the example of super uncompetitive plants being built,
* We do not know if power theft (more than 10% of all energy delivered) will be faced and resolved,
* We cannot predict what will happen with the energy tax system. Whether the ongoing conflicts, will be "pacified" or will remain open
* We do not have guidance if and how the "duck curve", which is already set up, will be mitigated and who will bear the burden.
It is no wonder that the industrial GDP has dropped, in percentage terms, by half since 1985.
Does Brazil deserve trust?
