Can Kinetic Energy Harvested From Human Activity Help Save The Planet?

Turning a turnstile at a subway station into a power source is a neat idea. So is turning roadways into kinetic energy sources by embedding piezoelectric harvesters. Today, these ways of generating electricity are seen as expensive. But in pursuit of mitigating climate change, we need more of these novel power generation technologies to make our future one where the energy we consume doesn't end up compromising the environment we bequeath to future generations.
