Leave it to California to come up with the most ridiculous claims to justify its horrendous environmental policies.
The latest fad among professional protestors and activists in California is the ‘environmental injustice theory’. Apparently, environmental pollution affects minorities and marginalized communities badly and the only solution is to shut down all the energy projects in the state.
Yep; someone actually made that claim. I wish I was making it up!
Malicious Attempt by Environmentalists
Anti-fracking groups in California are trying to shut down energy projects in the state by claiming that African Americans and other minority populations are disproportionately affected by environmental pollution. Hilarious! If they cared about minorities they would allow fracking since fracking creates solid middle class job.
But we know liberals don’t care about African Americans. They want to keep minorities in chains right Joe Biden? People like Biden are responsible for every ghetto in America.
This is actually a cunning tactic by professional protestors to rope in civil rights leaders and prominent African American citizens to join their bogus cause.
Thus far, environmentalism is seen as an elitist hobby by common people in the country. The truly poor and marginalized are looking for jobs and economic growth and have no time for such protests. By claiming that these energy projects are ‘racist’, liberals are trying to con African American people into their campaigns against the energy industry.
Environmental Injustice – A Bogus Theory
Data, however, shows that the environmental injustice theory is not only bogus, but it is actually anti-poor and anti-minority.
- California’s excessive focus on green energy, which is subsidized by taxpayers, has taken a heavy toll on the low-income households in the state. Electricity prices have been increasing steadily in the state, much to the chagrin of people from poor and marginalized communities.
- Due to the state’s strict environmental policies, many businesses have moved out, rendering a large number of Californians jobless.
- The average commute distance in California has increased by 15% in the past few years, which means Californians spend more on gas and vehicle maintenance compared to people from the rest of the country. The increase in commute distance and driving time means California’s vehicles are contributing more towards air pollution compared to vehicles from other states.
In fact, the situation is so bad in California that a group of civil rights leaders known as The Two Hundred have filed a lawsuit against the California Air Resources Board (CARB), claiming that the state’s environmental policies have affected the Black and Latino communities adversely.
Civil rights leaders in California emphasize the fact that the state ’s environmental policies have an adverse impact on those without college degrees and are dependent on gateway jobs. The businesses that provide such jobs, however, have moved out of the state due to the ridiculous regulations and the anti-business political climate in the state.
The Solution
The only form of injustice happening in California is that of the state’s discriminatory policies against fracking, which can produce cheap natural gas, bring thousands of jobs, and boost the economic activity in the state.
The marginalized communities in California are indeed affected – not by energy projects, but by the state’s ridiculous obsession with green energy.
What they need right now are cheap gas, a reduction in electricity prices, and reasonably well-paying jobs – all of which can be delivered by energy projects via fracking pertaining to natural gas. If the politicians in California have any sense of justice or fairness, it is what they should be working on.
