Are we Brazilians efficient?

Are we Brazilians efficient?

Let's start from the premise that our constituted powers are and always have been honest.

That workers and public officials are well-meaning and competent.

But...the harsh reality is: Brazil is the 63rd per ca-pita income in the world. It is and it has always been in the ranks of poor countries, even below the world average.

The conclusion: we are inefficient. We do not know how to create strategies and plans to make them operational so that our population achieves a standard of living compatible with a good per ca-pita income.

So is the premise correct? It is necessary to find out "what it is about" because something is deeply and systemically wrong.

In the electric power sector these aere the long time challenges thjat still have not been addressed:

1. Power theft is way above 10% and is "transferred" to all rate payers. It never changes.

2.  No active demand response programs even knowing that peak demand is costly issue!

3. No duck curve mitigation. Solar and wind are being stimulated but... who cares about intermitency?

4. Deregulated power markets for the residential sector is - still - many years away. 

And so it is not by chance that Brazil shows the highest price (in USD/MWh) when the comparison is the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). And this has been so for many years!
