APS lineworkers rise to the occasion locally and across the world

April 18 marks National Lineman Appreciation Day – a day dedicated to express the utmost appreciation to the great men and women who keep the lights on for us every day. It's our honor to celebrate the hard work, innovation and dedication of electrical lineworkers.

Our electrical lineworkers are the backbone of the electric utility industry and a large part of why our customers can count on APS to provide clean, reliable and affordable energy when they flip the switch, day in and day out, each day of the year.

The U.S. Senate designated April 18 as National Lineman Appreciation Day in 2013 in the months following Hurricane Sandy to honor linemen and women who battle mother nature to ensure the power kept flowing to homes, businesses, hospitals, and more. This event resonates with many of us – especially those who recall helping with the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts and restoring power to residents of California and Puerto Rico in the wake of natural disasters.

Through the good times and bad, what our lineworkers do is essential in our own communities across Arizona and in other parts of the world. Their commitment to our customers, the profession and each other is unparalleled and noticed by all who encounter them. We thank our lineworkers for always rising to the occasion and jumping into action when and where they are needed most.
