AFRICA’S GREEN HYDROGEN POTENTIAL

Green Hydrogen  | Africa

The  potential for green hydrogen in Africa is big, and it could bring significant value to the continent—and indeed the world. However, realizing this potential will not be easy.

The road ahead is likely to require strong leadership, creative partnerships, and the commitment of significant capital to create the enabling conditions and build the infrastructure required to support the necessary green hydrogen production, storage, and transportation for Africa to become a credible supplier in the global hydrogen economy. In achieving these goals, collaboration will be key; no one country or company can do it alone.

The scale and complexity of the transition means that the kind of deliberate collaboration that AGHA champions will be vital to connect all stakeholders working toward a common goal, including private-sector players that have mobilized large-scale capital, governments, which have the unique ability to create an enabling environment, civil society, which is key to ensuring that benefits flow to local communities and secure community buy-in, and industry players along the entire value chain that will be engaged in the day-to-day operation of this new industry.  Stay informed:  Hydrogen Africa
