Aberdeenshire consents UK’s largest green hydrogen project
Kintore Hydrogen aims to produce zero-carbon hydrogen using renewable power sources, notably by utilising surplus energy from Scottish wind farms that would otherwise be curtailed to balance the electricity grid. This approach is said to not only improve the cost-effectiveness of hydrogen production but also enhance the UK’s energy security by providing a low-carbon alternative to natural gas for carbon-intensive industries.
