Which French regions are most threatened by wildfires and how can they be better protected?

Wildfires are becoming an increasing challenge in many parts of the world, and France is also strongly affected by this problem. However, not all French regions have the same level of risk. Some areas are more vulnerable because of their hot and dry climate, the type of vegetation, the shape of the landscape, and human activities. This article (in french!) explains which regions in France were the most affected by wildfires in 2026 and why these areas are more sensitive to fire. It also presents possible solutions to reduce the impact of future wildfires. Understanding where fires occur, what environmental and human factors make these areas more vulnerable, and how fires spread is essential for developing effective protection strategies.
