As I was starting this paper, I saw a program on ABC News Bay Area (SF Bay Area), where they reviewed major water projects in our area. This raised a question in my mind: “Are there any major projects in on the Pacific Coast to desalinate seawater, store it reservoirs and ultimately use it for population water-supply and agriculture?"
So, I did what any sensible Computer Technologist would do: (1) I greatly simplified the question to: “Major Pacific Coast Desalination Projects for Water Supply and Agriculture?” (2) I posed this query to my preferred Internet Browser. It replied with a pretty good answer which provided most of Section 2 of this paper. Thereafter, in the remaining sections, I added related information on California water initiatives.
