Electric populism in Brazil
60 million Brazilians who consume less than 80 kWh/month will be granted free electricity bills.
At the expense of other consumers, of course. As always!
The result is well known. Companies and institutions, in particular, will have their bills increased by the "subsidy" granted, further hindering their competitiveness.
But who cares?
The priority of governments (regardless of the parties in power) is to "give gifts" to the poor as a way of "buying" votes.
Meanwhile, the cost of Brazilian electricity is one of the most expensive compared to our BRICS competitors.
When will the country "wake up"?
