SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation) - 12.10.2009

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a follow-on contract by Entergy Corporation to continue providing comprehensive information technology (IT) services through 2015. The single award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a six year period of performance and a total value of more than $219 million. Work will be performed primarily in New Orleans, La., Little Rock, Ark., and Houston, Texas.

Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, and is the second-largest nuclear generator in the United States. Entergy delivers electricity to 2.7 million utility customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Entergy has annual revenues of more than $13 billion and approximately 14,700 employees. Under the contract, SAIC will continue providing comprehensive IT support services to Entergy including application development and maintenance, as well as infrastructure support - PC user, help desk, data center operations, and telecommunications services.

"We are pleased with the strong relationship we have built with SAIC over the last decade," said Jill Israel, Entergy's chief information officer. "SAIC has established themselves as a valuable provider of quality IT services."

SAIC has supported Entergy since 1999, providing recovery support during hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and other major storms, helping the company develop two new data centers, and enhancing overall IT service delivery.

"We look forward to continuing our support of Entergy as they continue delivering electricity to 2.7 million customers, and pursue industry leading business initiatives in customer service, utility operations, security, and storm response," said Rex Ballard, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
