Schneider Electric Launches WiserTM Home Controller iPhone(R) Application

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, today announced the availability of the Wiser™ home controller application for the Apple® iPhone® mobile digital device. Customers who already enjoy Wiser home controller’s seamless control of C-Bus™ home automation technology for lighting, audio, and HVAC controls, along with third party subsystems, can now experience the added convenience of connecting via their iPhone. Currently available at the Apple App Store, the free download incorporates all features of the Wiser home controller with the added benefit of remote accessibility from anywhere and at anytime.

Continually striving for ways to transform lifestyles and enhance the way customers enjoy their homes, the Wiser home controller iPhone App allows users the convenience of adjusting their home environment from any location. For example, users can easily turn off lights in the house from any location or access video monitors in their home for a greater sense of security rather than experiencing the increased stress or wasted time of returning back to their residence. In addition to adjusting controls remotely, customers can also reduce their environmental footprint and increase security by setting up automated commands. With the Wiser home controller, homeowners can enjoy the convenience of a “vacation” mode setting, where everything is turned off except the security system, and a pre-programmed pattern of nighttime lighting is activated. If users forget to change their daily controls while on vacation, the application allows remote enabling of security settings such as activation of schedules to make it look like the property is occupied, viewing of IP/Web cameras, or arming and disarming of security panels.
