NEWS: Lawmakers urge PJM to take steps so clean energy projects can meet tax credit deadlines

Lawmakers across PJM’s footprint say the grid operator needs to move faster on renewables. (Utility Dive)

  • A group of 107 state legislators urged PJM to help clean energy projects reach operation before federal tax credit deadlines, warning that transmission delays and slow interconnection reviews are putting resources at risk.

  • They called on PJM to share more data with states, adopt “energy only” interconnection options, and refile a proposal at FERC that would let renewables and batteries directly replace retiring fossil units. Lawmakers also pressed for queue reforms already required under federal rules.
