Seeing the whole picture is vitally important in the management of coal ash at the utility level. With more than 30 years of experience, Charah® Solutions is a leader in providing mission-critical environmental and maintenance services to the power generation industry – for both coal-fired and nuclear power plants. As a leader that delivers innovative and sustainable results for utilities, we see the whole spectrum of ash management – and that makes a big difference for our utility customers.

WHEN YOU SEE THE BIG PICTURE, YOU’RE IN POSITION TO DELIVER BETTER RESULTS.

With our comprehensive range of capabilities, Charah Solutions is the partner of choice for solving our utility customers’ most complex environmental challenges. Utilities count on us to deliver results for coal ash management and the beneficiation of ash byproducts generated from coal combustion.

MP618™ FLY ASH BENEFICIATION CHANGES EVERYTHING.

Until now, utilities were faced with having to separate high-quality fly ash for marketing through beneficiation programs, while storing low-quality ash in an ash pond or landfill. Fortunately, that has changed for the better.

With our proprietary MP618 Multi-Process fly ash beneficiation technology, utilities can profitably market a far greater percentage of their fly ash.

MP618 is a revolutionary, cost-effective thermal solution

for residual carbon mitigation and ammonia mitigation to generate a low loss on ignition (LOI) high-quality fly ash for immediate marketability.

With the flexibility to be installed at both operating and non-operating power plants, MP618 can process wet or dry fly ash, regardless of whether the fly ash is current production or legacy ash stored in ponds or landfills. The technology also allows for the processing of kiln dust to remove mercury for emissions regulations compliance.

MP618 offers significant advantages over competing technologies:

  • Significantly lower cost profile versus other technologies
  • Beneficiation of both wet and dry fly ash
  • Efficient footprint with self-contained environmental controls
  • Can be deployed in months versus years
  • Modular design and scalability allow for production of 50,000 tons to 300,000 tons per year, based on market demand

Following the MP618 process, fly ash can be immediately marketed through our MultiSource® materials network that provides nationwide sales distribution through over 30 nationwide locations. It keeps utility fly ash moving to meet demand from our growing customer base of concrete producers and construction firms.
