“The Coal FIRST initiative will integrate early-stage R&D on power plant components with currently available technologies into a first-of-a-kind system,” said Assistant Secretary for Fossil Energy Steven Winberg. “Through innovative technologies and advanced approaches to design and manufacturing, the initiative will look beyond today’s utility-scale power plant concepts (e.g., base-load units) in ways that integrate with the electrical grid in the United States and internationally.” The production of energy using digitally controlled power flow will be paramount in achieving "near zero emissions" efficiently.

Tripp, with "Near-Zero Emissions Coal" (NZEC) the people marketing coal claim to be able to verifiably stuff enough carbon into the ground to cancel out the exhaust from their fuel littering the air. Because there's no evidence it would (or could) work, it should be a non-starter - but apparently it's already garnered some support.

Signing on to this nonsense does no favors for 3DFS, another 4-character entity which hyperbolically claims to be able to deliver "digitally-perfect power flow" (digital sampling breaks any continuous analog signal into a finite stream of imperfect quanta).

This was quite an eye-opener, written by an electrical engineer at ERCOT who claims 3DFS, like NZEC, is "just stringing buzzwords together":

That's what I thought too, but I'm not an electrical engineer. How would you respond?

Bob, there are plenty of engineers and non-engineers who do not understand electricity, specifically power flow. We have operated under a 'place a capacitor on it' scenario for so long, but now we use non-linear loads and capacitors and transformers are failing. This is true of coal, nuclear, wind, solar, etc. By operating in parallel, we do not break anything, we complement power flow by reducing harmonics, zeroing neutral current, and active current phase balancing. Our technology is energy source independent and connects to the wires that supply the electricity.

Hi everybody!

Could there be any other sources that could match the cost, the safety of the workers, the system and a !ot more when one eveluate sincerely.

I would like to put forth 2 examples. First, the Atmospheric Air. And the other Waer.

The atmospheric air, makes use of Compressed Air Turbine. It helps in cleaning the atmospheric air and at the same time releases clean air after being filtered by water. The dust content could easily be captured! Used air would be able to be reused again and again. I am the designer for this.

For water, if in case one have a flowing source of water, one could take up The New Generation Hydro, or Advanced Hydro. 

For the New Generation Hydro, the power it is able to generate would be very high, and the water used would be cycled and reused.
