Julia is a visionary non-profit leader, who grew a small organization into a mature, vibrant, high performing organization with significant stature in the energy industry. She guides and oversees all of SEPA’s research, education, and advisory services activities for its 1,000 member companies representing utilities, solar vendors, and other stakeholders. Julia is a skilled facilitator of strategic planning sessions and stakeholder forums, and is a highly sought after speaker for energy events around the world.
Julia has 15 years experience advising and collaborating with utilities, manufacturers and government agencies on renewable energy and energy efficiency strategies and programs. The knowledge and experience she has gained as the President and CEO of SEPA makes her one of the world’s foremost experts on the nexus between utilities and solar energy.
Julia is the founder of Solar Power International (SPI), North America's largest, most comprehensive solar power trade show and conference. She serves on the Board of Solar Energy Trade Shows, the jointly-owned SEPA and SEIA subsidiary that operates SPI and PV America. She is also on the Board of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the Solar Instructor Training Network, and is on the Keystone Center Energy Board.
Previously, Julia worked for ICF International where she supported the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s implementation of the ENERGY STAR program. She advised manufacturers of energy efficient lighting, HVAC, and refrigeration products on sales and marketing strategies to leverage the ENERGY STAR brand. She also developed and conducted ENERGY STAR training for product manufacturers and their distributors.
