As one of the continent’s most carbon-intensive sectors, steel production faces the dual challenge of reducing emissions while maintaining industrial competitiveness in a global market influenced by the EU Green Deal, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and the evolving carbon cost landscape. The shift toward green steel, powered by renewable energy, hydrogen-based DRI, and circular production models, is redefining how Europe will secure its leadership in sustainable materials.
The 4th European Green Steel Summit 2026 will convene leading steel producers, technology innovators, energy suppliers, policymakers, and value chain partners to explore strategies and partnerships for achieving large-scale industrial decarbonization. Key discussions will focus on the integration of hydrogen and CCUS technologies, the industrialization of green steel processes, responsible sourcing, and ESG compliance across the supply chain. The summit will also highlight circular economy practices, data-driven optimization, and market mechanisms—such as green premiums and certification schemes—that will shape demand and accelerate the adoption of low-carbon steel in automotive, construction, and manufacturing sectors.
Event Date/ Location / Organizer
20-21 April, 2026 / Dusseldorf, Germany / ECV International
The summit will be held in-person and online.
