The friction: Right now, connecting a fast-charging station is often a bureaucratic black box. Developers submit an application and wait indefinitely for transformers and line upgrades without knowing if the delay is due to a parts shortage, a permit, or just paperwork sitting on a desk.
The mandate: In a first-of-its-kind ruling, the Public Utilities Commission ordered NV Energy to track and report detailed data on "energization timelines" for commercial chargers starting next January.
